It was a day to write off all the critics by the media. Ronaldo has overtaken Gerd Muller record as the World Cup top scorer. So what if the media thinks Ronaldo is fat? So long as he continues to score goals, no one in Brasil is complaining.

The entire French team did well to overcome a 1-0 deficit against the Spainish. Zidane did well and scored a goal against Spain. And it was the same old Spain World Cup story, knocked out from 2nd round. But i must admit that Spain did played well yesterday.

So the only critic left remains that of England, will they play well against portugal? Sven obviously thought so, but we shall see...

As Beckham, Ronaldo, Zidane demonstrated to us, Class is permanent, form is temporary.

It was a day when penalties decide who goes through. Italy won by a last min Totti goal which was pretty harsh for Australia, they played well but Buffon made many outstanding saves... He's the world most expensive GK afterall...

We had our 1st penalty shoot-out of the tournament. Ukraine went through 3-0 for the record. Well, at least Switzerland can take consolation that they did't concede any goals... LOL...

Was the Portugal vs Netherlands a rugby match? I certainly thought so... 4 RED cards and 16 YELLOW cards which i believe is the record for the most number of cards in a World Cup match. What a disgrace, some of the fouls committed were just unjustified, the players lost their cool. I wonder how Portugal gonna cope with the suspension for the rest of the tournament.

Becks 1 Ecuador 0
England was back to their plain self again, not inspiring. Did't create much chances. Beckham showed us his importance to the England team with his free kick winner. So how do u justified dropping Becks when he can bring quality delivery to the team, even though i must admit he does drift in and out of spell in the match.

Wow, what a day it has been, 2 early goals in both game and what a great way to start the match. Germany really surprised me with all the bombardment at the Sweden goal but i think Isaksson did really well to prevent a humiliating scoreline. Similarly, there are 2 early goals at both ends in the Argentina's match vs Mexico. We had our 1st extra-time match of the tournament with Maxi Rodriguez setting the tie. I wasn't hopping for a penalty kick because i was pretty tired... i wanted to sleep. LOL...

Hmm... i wonder what will happen to tml match when England plays? I hope Sven doesn't bored us with his negative tactics... but i'm definitely looking forward to the titan clash between Netherlands and Portugal!!!
