The Mourinho-Abramovich relationship had to end someday. But it was really unexpected to end it in such a way. In fact, it came as a shock to many in the footballing world. Avram Grant was temporarily appointed as the manager. However he did not have the UEFA pro license credential. Anyway, I doubt he will be manager for long with many big names managers linked with Chelsea. The latest linked being Marco Van Basten.
There seems to be a trend in managers leaving the club after clashing with the chairman over the style of play. Capello was sacked by Real Madrid despite winning the La Liga championship. Mourinho left Chelsea through mutual consent and Gheorghe Hagi resigned as coach of Steaua Bucharest due to ongoing tensions with club owner Gigi Becali.
All eyes will be on Chelsea for the next few weeks in the aftermath of Mourinho leaving. I wonder who will be the next manager and where will Chelsea end at the end of the season.

There have lots of things happening in football for the last 3 months!!! Henry finally made the move to Barcelona. Real Madrid sacked Cappello and made many new signings. Becks did't make as much impact as expected in MLS with the LA Galaxy with his niggling injuries. Liverpool strengthened considerably with the signings of Torres and Babel.
Back in Asia, the Asian Cup had a new champion in Iraq. My supported team Japan ended up in 4th place after losing on penalty kicks to South Korea. Last week, there was a walk-out in S-League match between Woodland Wellin
gton and Tampines Rovers. What an unprofessional sporting act by the Woodland Wellington players and officials. There can be no room for such
acts in football.

The european season is finally over with the end of La Liga. What a dramatic season it has been for Real Madrid. First, the Galacticos did't perform, Ronaldo left, Beckham was left out in the cold for a while, signed for LA Galaxy, went back into the 1st team and played really well. Capello was under pressure and just games away from the sack. He could still leave Real Madrid though. V.Nistelrooy ended up as top scorer in La Liga. Meanwhile. R.Carlos is leaving for Fernerbache.
Now that La Liga has ended, i can't wait for the transfer dealings to start. A movement somewhere within the clubs will trigger more transfer reeling. Lots of transfer rumours surronding E'too, Henry, Kaka. Watch the space...

Congratulations to Inter Milan, Olympique Lyon and Celtic for clinching their respective championship title. Cristiano Ronaldo won both the PFA and young PFA player of the year. Meanwhile Shunsuke Nakamura became the first asian player to win the PFA award in SPL.
Bayern Munich title hopes seems dash with their 2-0 lost to Stuggart last weekend. In England, the title race is between Manchester United and Chelsea. While in Spain, the title hots up with 3 teams in Barcelona, Real Madrid and Sevilla.
