Reading FC is in trouble. Puzzled? Reading is currently 6th in the table with 43 points and definitely staying in the EPL for another season. So where's the trouble? The trouble lies in next season. Promoted clubs tend to struggle in their following season in the EPL. Look no further in West Ham and Wigan for examples.

What if Reading secured a UEFA slot? That's even more trouble ahead. History have shown that middle and small size clubs tend to struggle in their domestic league while competing in Europe. Historical examples are Everton, Villareal, Real Sociedad, Real Betis in the UEFA Champions League, West Ham, Tottenham, Parma in UEFA cup.

The crystal ball predicts the above scenarios but whether it does happen, we shall watch the space a year from now.
Reading FC: Happy times ahead

Number 7. That's the number of foreign investers owning an EPL club and it certainly won't be the last. Is Liverpool following the Manchester United-Glazer model bankrolled with Chelsea-Abrahimovic pay cheque? Watch the space...

Meanwhile, congratulations to Singapore for defending their ASEAN cup. It was a bizarre 2 legged finals with their opponent Thailand leaving the pitch for about 15 mins before returning in protest of a penalty awarded in the 1st leg. I have never seen anything like this before in football.
